Last night's results have been highlighted by the major news organizations for its historical impact on our country. We have elected, by a majority of votes, the first African-American President. This is clearly a watershed moment in our country's history that will hopefully set the tone for positive change in the coming years.
Justin,
I have heard news reports that countries across the globe celebrated Obama's win last night with the hopes that international relations and cooperation will improve.
It's amazing how far our country has come in the last century. Discrimination against race seems to be fading as the first African-American becomes President elect. Watching the news last night it was pointed out how a ninety one percent white populated state voted in favor of Obama. The effort he has made in reaching out towards the younger generations, and getting them involved in something so important as the presidential election verifies a new change. His sense of duty, and strong-will to run the country shines through in his charasmatic speeches. This historical election will stay embeded in my head for the rest of my life as it goes to show anything is possible in the United States of America.
Chris,
Your words are well-written and reflect the promise your generation has on the future of our country. I hope that your interest and enthusiasm continues long after today.
I agree too that it is a major impact. Maybe it will help people to realize it's no longer about what the color of your skin is anymore, but how we can work together as Americans.
I celebrated last night's results with a sea of Obama supporters. There was tons of cheering and loud music. It was the first time that my entire neighborhood seemed alive. There were children playing outside, people sitting out on their porches, and many people honking their car horns! There was a sense of togetherness that I had never felt within my community. It was pure bliss. I just wonder why we never felt this way about any other presidential election.
Obama is amazing.
He deserves this, and hopefully will change what Bush was doing.
He was the right choice, and I am very pleased he was choosen president.
