The Candidate I have chosen is Ron Paul, a libertarian, who is going for the Republican Party and he is from our great state of Texas. He is serving his 10th term as one of our congressman. He has ideas that may seem to be on the radical side. He was formally an OB/GYN and has delivered more than 3,000 babies. I have chosen 3 political ads for Ron Paul’s political campaign. In my personal opinion the overall project for the videos are to show that the moral bounds of our country have been broken or crossed. Also they show how the Bush Administration is acting like a meddling parent? The ads do not use personal attacks against other candidates because that would take away from the true message. They are direct, to the point, and for once, honest political ads.
It is portrayed that Ron Paul is the only real & last conservative left in our government today; he is also the “champion” of the constitution. He is showing the strict father figure, by displaying what his primary responsibilities; which are to protect the family from the evil in this world both internal and external. Ron Paul holds himself to high standards because he is self-disciplined, morally, strong. He insists on moral authority because it gives us the obedience that we need to learn from our mistakes.
We are pretty much fighting a war against good & evil. The evil is the Bush Administration doing stuff that is morally wrong. The moral strength has been broken and lost because our administration has been brain washed by immoral bounds that our president has created. I had posted the ads on myspace.com with some question for anyone who wanted to answer them. My brother-in-law Chris was more than glad to answer some questions for me. The question that I had asked was about the Bush Administration and if it unconstitutional this is what he had to say:

“Everything about the bush administration is unconstitutional. Just look at the Patriot Act, it's a 3000 page document used to "enhance and protect the rights of citizens" and was drafted a mere 3 weeks after 9-11. Congress was only given 20 minutes to view a 3000+ page document before voting on it. Had they been given more time, they may have got to the parts talking about how the Feds have the ability to obtain your credit information and banking habits from your financial institutions, cut education spending to aid terrorism prevention, monitor your phone calls and emails and even hold you without a lawyer or even read you your rights and lock you up for life, all because they suspect you to be a terrorist. And what's worse, the government has been doing all those things for years, the Patriot Act just made it "legal". (Chris www.myspace.com/corpse_fiend).

We can’t empathize with our government because they chose not to listen to what we have to say. They would rather meddle in our live, tell us what to do.
It sounds like to me that we are being run by a dictatorship. That was another question I had asked my brother-in-law. His response was a little intense:

“It certainly is a reality to me. Government is run by the people, for the people. Government has obtained too many powers that are not justified. The power is in the state and the people. Yet we allow government to run our lives. Right now our rights are slowly leaving us in exchange for global domination for economic elite. They want us to be dumb. A democracy can only exist if the republic is informed, educated, and driven. It's no coincidence that our schools are getting worse, that media lies and covers up. People get things taken from them everyday. Your own phone company robs many people everyday on their bills, because they know no one is going to ask any questions. Staying quiet and dumb is what they want.
The time is going to come where the "true America" realizes what's going on. The up rise will happen in the heartland. When big government tries to seize the rights of the middle class, the resistance will grow. We may not be very smart where I come from, but try to take away our land, what little we have, and we will fight to the death. I think within the next 10 to 20 years we will be at war with our government. A "civil war" if you will. I believe a police state is being developed all around us. Question authority.”

Our government has lost our trust, because of all the lies that we have succumb to since 911. The media has had control of what we should believe in. For example, the elections are only concentrating on Obama & Clinton, only because the corporatist tells them to do so. The media is starting to become problem because they are controlled by corporations. The Corporatist dictate what is call news and entertainment, they throw so many distractions at us and since the average American’s attentions span isn’t even the length of a three minute song, we just suck up whatever they feed us. We should know better that our media is corrupt, yet some of these new broadcasters are on television saying that we are being lied to and who will stop all these lies.
So for now, at this moment, I can say that our civil liberties are being violated and our trust is being diminished. Our moral strength like I said has been taken away, but there are different aspects to show your moral strength which is very hard to show when we are being held back. It feels like we are being run by a Dictatorship, but nobody wants to see that we are slowly evolving into a dictatorship. Why all of sudden are we being spied on, why did we go to war with a country that had absolutely nothing to do with 911? It’s the questions that drive us to wonder why our government is acting very funny. I feel like we are being told what to do, because the media is telling us what to watch, who to vote, what to buy etc. It is difficult to determine what is going on in our country today. I think that we should steer away form liberal hands and go back into conservative, so that we know we have our hands on the wheel.

Elizabeth,
Thank you for your contribution to the discussion. You bring up an important issue with the eroding of some of our civil liberties. I have been alarmed at the license certain government agencies, CIA/FBI, have accrued under the name of Homeland Security to conduct surveillance on phone/Internet communications of Americans going about their daily lives. It is bothersome that there are records of our conversations that will never be disclosed to us and that will never be erased from these agencies' records. Perhaps the very conversations we are having here? Oh, well . . .
